Pricing for a three-practitioner practice
Here is the math for an owner and two associates (Sessions Health pricing, verified 10/10/2026).
| Line | Monthly |
|---|---|
| Professional, first practitioner | $39 |
| 2 additional practitioners at $29 | $58 |

That is $1,164 a year before add-ons, or $1,524 with telehealth. Electronic claims cost from 25 cents each (19 cents at 1,000 or more), and real-time eligibility checks are 15 cents a report. Sessions Health shows monthly pricing only.
Prexella. One flat fee covers the practice, whether you have one practitioner or five, and it is quoted for your practice on a demo call. Sessions Health will usually be cheaper on list price for a small team. What a Prexella fee pays for is the client-facing side Sessions Health does not list: your own branded domain, online booking with card checkout, prepaid credits, and a marketing suite.
What clients see in each system
Booking and paying. A Prexella client books on your own domain: they pick a service, choose telehealth or in office, take an open time and pay by card in one flow. Every slot is checked on the server before it is confirmed, so double bookings and past-date bookings cannot happen. Clients can buy prepaid session credits or a multi-session package, and Prexella reminds them automatically when their balance runs low. Sessions Health's pricing page does not describe its client booking or payment flow.
Paperwork and between sessions. In Prexella, the client portal holds intake, consent, telehealth consent and privacy forms, signed with an ESIGN and UETA audit trail. Clients message you, complete PHQ-9 and GAD-7 check-ins, keep a journal and work through workbooks there.
Branding. Prexella clients only see your practice's name and domain. White-label branding is not listed on Sessions Health's pricing page.
What a practice owner's week looks like
Monday: open the dashboard to see the week's sessions, clients whose session credits are running low, and forms still waiting for a signature. Prexella emails clients automatically when their credit balance runs low and the day before the last session of a package, so you are not writing those reminders yourself.
During the week: every client gets a reminder the day before each session, and telehealth clients get the video link in the same email. Recurring clients keep their weekly slot without being rebooked, and new clients book, pay and sign their paperwork without a phone call.
Month end: generate superbills for out-of-network clients in one click each, review income in Finances, and check which marketing channels brought in new clients this month. In Sessions Health, the same week centers on notes, claims and eligibility checks, which is where it is strongest for in-network practices.
Where Prexella wins
1. Your brand on your own domain
Prexella is white-label. The booking page, client portal and every confirmation, reminder and superbill email run on your domain with your practice name. For a practice building its own reputation, every client touchpoint carries your brand rather than a vendor's.
2. Marketing and growth in the same system
Sessions Health's pricing page does not list marketing tools. Prexella includes a marketing suite: record and review Meta and Google ad results, plan video scripts, and send branded client newsletters from the same dashboard as your calendar and income. For a cash-pay practice that has to find its own clients, that is the part of the business most EHRs leave out.
3. Flat pricing as the team grows
Sessions Health's per-practitioner pricing is low, but it does scale with headcount, and telehealth and AI are added per practitioner too. Prexella is one flat fee, so hiring an associate or adding a part-time clinician does not change your bill. On Sessions Health, a three-practitioner team that adds both telehealth and AI Assist moves from $97 to $232 a month at list price, and each further hire adds $74 with those same add-ons.
Where Sessions Health wins
1. Price
Sessions Health is among the lowest-priced options in our SimplePractice alternatives comparison: free for up to three clients, $39 a month for a solo practitioner, and $29 for each additional one. A three-practitioner team pays under $100 a month before add-ons. Prexella is unlikely to beat that on price alone.
2. Insurance claims and eligibility built in
Sessions Health lists electronic claims from 25 cents and real-time eligibility checks at 15 cents a report. A practice that bills in-network and submits its own claims gets that workflow directly. Prexella's insurance billing workspace turns sessions into claims and hands them to your in-house or outsourced biller, who submits them through their own clearinghouse.
3. Strong reviews and a self-serve start
Sessions Health is rated 4.9 on Capterra across more than 100 reviews, and some reviewers say they switched to it from SimplePractice over cost and service (Capterra reviews). You can start a 30-day trial yourself. Prexella is set up for you after a demo call.
Questions to ask before you choose
A demo or trial is the best place to test claims, including ours. Questions worth asking Sessions Health:
- What does each additional practitioner add once telehealth and AI Assist are included?
- How do clients book and pay online, and can that run on our own domain?
- Can clients buy prepaid packages or session credits?
- What marketing or newsletter tools are available, if any?
- What do automated superbills include, and can clients download them themselves?
And questions worth asking us on a Prexella demo:
- What is the flat fee for our practice, and what does setup include?
- How will our client records be moved, given what our current system lets us export?
- Which video tool should we pair with Prexella for telehealth, and does it sign a BAA?
Verdict
Prexella vs Sessions Health is a choice between the leanest option and the most complete client-facing one. If your priority is a low monthly bill, clinical notes and in-network claims, Sessions Health is hard to beat. If you run a private-pay practice that markets itself and wants its own brand, online booking with payment, prepaid packages and marketing in one system at a flat fee, Prexella is the better fit.

Frequently asked questions
Is Prexella cheaper than Sessions Health?
For most small practices, no. Sessions Health is $39 a month for the first practitioner and $29 for each additional one, plus $10 per practitioner if you want its telehealth add-on, so three practitioners with telehealth list at $127 a month. Prexella is one flat fee for the practice, quoted on a demo call. Prexella earns its place on branding, marketing and private-pay tools, not on being the cheapest option.
Does Sessions Health include telehealth?
Not in the base price. Its pricing page lists telehealth as a $10 per practitioner add-on, or you can use external telehealth links for free. Prexella works the same way as the free option: it schedules telehealth and emails clients the join link to the video tool you already use.
Can Prexella run on my own domain?
Yes. Booking, the client portal and every email carry your practice name and domain. White-label branding is not listed on Sessions Health's pricing page.
Which is better for insurance billing?
Sessions Health, if you submit claims yourself: it lists electronic claims from 25 cents and real-time eligibility at 15 cents a report. Prexella's insurance workspace prepares claims and hands them to your biller, who submits them through their own clearinghouse.
How do I switch from Sessions Health to Prexella?
